cold brew coffee at homeMy mornings don’t start until I’ve had my cold brew coffee at home. Although I love getting it at my local coffee shop, most mornings, I’m hustling to get my kids ready for school (or summer camp). I just found a new favorite way for me to get my cold brew coffee fix at my local Vons Store, which makes it ultra-convenient. I’m loving the Java House® Dual-Use Liquid Coffee Pods, which I can find in the cold brew section in the coffee aisle.

cold brew coffee at home 2Being able to get the Java House® Liquid Pods right at my local Vons store is not only convenient but it saves a lot of money, too. The neat thing about these pods is that it’s cold brew coffee that you can serve hot or cold. It’s also super easy to prepare. To make it hot, simply peel the lid, pour it into a mug, and add 8 ounces of hot water. To prepare it cold, peel the lid, pour it over ice, and add 8 ounces of cold water.

The Java House® Liquid Pods are great to keep around the house for guests, too. Not all people love cold coffee as much as I do, so I love that you can serve this hot or cold and it’s delicious both ways. The best part about cold brew coffee, if you ask me, is that it is amazingly smooth and much less acidic than traditional hot-brewed coffee. Java House uses twice the regular amount of 100% Arabica coffee steeped for over 12 hours, which results in 2X natural caffeine content.

The Java House® Liquid Pods are the only brew liquid pods on the market that you can enjoy hot or cold, which I personally think is such a perk. Most days, I do prefer drinking my coffee over ice but every now and then, I prefer a warm mug of coffee. The Java House® Liquid Pods allow me to have both.

Do you prefer getting your coffee at a coffee shop? I know a lot of people do. However, I’ve found a few ways to make at-home coffee even more appealing.

5 Ways to Make the Perfect Cold Brew Coffee at Home

1. Add Sweetened Condensed Milk

Instead of traditional milk or cream, sweetened condensed milk changes up the flavor and gives your drink an international flair—like Vietnamese iced coffee.

2. Use Coconut Water or Milk

For a different flavor and health benefits, try coconut milk or coconut water when you make your cold brew. Coconut water almost adds a chocolatey flavor to your cold brew.

3. Make Flavored Ice Cubes

You can add a little almond, hazelnut or vanilla extract to ice cube trays along with some cream, milk or water to create flavored ice cubes. You can even make coffee ice cubes. This is another simple and fun way to add an interesting flavor to your cold brew.

4. Add Spices

I personally love adding cinnamon to my cold brew. Nutmeg is also great to add to cold brew.

5. Add Some Ice Cream

Turn your cold brew into a treat by adding a little scoop of ice cream. Almost any flavor could work, but I’d opt for classic vanilla bean or a caramel flavor.

I hope I’ve sold you on all the benefits of having cold brew coffee at home. There are so many interesting things you can do to make your coffee right at home. I will still hit up my local coffee shops every now and then. But the majority of the time, I’m so happy to get it right out of my refrigerator.
