This is Why I Started Wearing Eco Friendly Clothing

This post is sponsored by Eco and Earth. All opinions are my own.

When it comes to politics and the state of our world, I often feel like I can’t do much to change things. I think a lot of people feel that way. However, that’s just not right. If every person made small changes, it would lead to bigger changes. There are things I just can’t control, but I do control where and how I spend my money. That’s why I’m trying to make more conscious choices and why I decided to try wearing eco friendly clothing.

Organic Retailers

One of my blogger friends introduced me to Eco and Earth. They sell a broad range of organic products that are environmentally responsible. They carry body, bath and beauty products, clothing, hair and skincare. All of their clothing is sourced in the US and is either organic or made from recycled materials. I was excited to learn about Eco and Earth because I know that any products I buy from them have been through a rigorous selection process already.

Resale Shopping

This is the first time I have tried eco friendly clothing intentionally. I’ve purchased resale items for years, but never thought of it quite the same as purposefully buying organic or recycled clothing. Although I thought the environmental perk of purchasing resale clothing and accessories was noble, the main reason I tend to buy resale is that you can get really great deals on designer items.  I actually wrote an article about my favorite resale stores here.

Environmental Impact

The thing about the fashion industry is that it can have quite a negative environmental impact. I’ve read articles about companies that just throw away tons of clothes that don’t sell, rather than donate them to people who could use them. Whenever I can, I try to purchase from companies who value social responsibility and also monitor their carbon footprint.

What’s Eco Friendly Clothing Like?

This is the first official eco friendly clothing I’m trying and I have to say, so far so good. The sweatshirt is super soft. The t-shirt and the pants are such a cute matching set for working out or casual weekends. I wore this to my shoot and I didn’t take it off the rest of the day. They entire outfit was ultra comfortable – a great busy mom on the go look.

I’m not planning to only buy organic or resale items, but I am definitely going to think harder about the items I do purchase. If you’re looking to add more organic products to your life, you should definitely check out Eco and Earth. They currently have 20% off with code: SUMMER20. It’s important we think about what we put on and in our bodies, just as it’s important to think about how our daily habits affect our earth. I hope you’ll join me in at least thinking about what we can do to make our world a better place.
