1. DRESSES OR SKIRTS ARE A MUST
Sure, you can wear your black pants or dark wash jeans, but holiday parties really call for glamor and femininity, which screams DRESS or flouncy SKIRT to me.
2. CHOOSE FESTIVE COLORS
Primary red and green or any variation of these colors are totally allowed. Metallics, especially gold and silver, also make perfect color choices.
3. GLITTER, SEQUINS, JEWELS AND EMBELLISHMENTS ARE REQUIRED
It’s pretty hard to overdo it for the holidays. This is the one time of year where I say more is more and there is no need to be subtle. If your dress is all sequins, it’s OK to still have a sequins bag or shoes or extra sparkly dangly earrings. My general rule of only one bold accessory doesn’t hold for the holidays; competing items are allowed this time of year.
With these rules in mind, here are some of my favorite holiday party dresses.

I love your "rules" for holiday glam- they are spot on! I also tend to think that everyone looks fab in jewel tones this time of year, don't you?
