Fall 2016 fashion seems a bit disjointed. Skinny jeans are still majorly on trend, but now I’m seeing major bell bottoms and also ultra baggy jeans (think 90s grunge) are also making a comeback. The fringe and tassels fashion trend are still really cool on everything from handbags to booties to leather gloves. I’ve also noticed a lot of suede shift dresses and jackets this season. I’ve definitely been watching the trends, but I haven’t jumped in to actually buy much of anything new yet.
To be honest, I’m in shock that it’s already October. Where did September go? It seems like just yesterday I was prepping for back-to-school, but I forgot to prep my own wardrobe. Although my wardrobe is not quite ready for fall, I was super excited to hear about some major fall sales happening right now.
Part of the reason I don’t do much shopping at the end of summer and early fall is because it’s still so darn hot in Phoenix. It doesn’t feel like fall, so I don’t feel the desire to buy fall clothes. Now that the mornings are finally on the cool side, I’ve started to break out my booties and even throw on a light coat now and then. I’m still in need of some new layering pieces for fall along with a new pair of brown booties (I’ve been eyeing these ones). I’d also love to find a new statement handbag in a unique color or design.
The one trend I definitely want to try this fall is the tassels fashion trend. Although tassels have come in and out over the years, I love the little detail they add to accessories. I’ve been especially eyeing all the bucket and saddle bags with the tassels. I love this trend because I think it is completely wearable, and although the tassels might become dated on things like sweaters, dresses (although, how gorgeous is this one?), or even shoes, I think tassels on handbags are here to stay. Here are some of my current favorite tassel accessories.
