Multi-Colored Stripes is the Best Spring Trend

Stripes are a quintessential spring trend. The nautical style always pops up in the spring. You know, the classic navy and white striped top paired with flowy white pants, or maybe some gold accents for some bling. This spring, the nautical vibe gets an updated twist with multi-colored stripes taking the place of the traditional navy and white. I’ve noticed multi-colored stripes popping up on sweaters, dresses, and even handbags. This is a trend that is definitely going to carry into summer.

Why You Should Wear Multi-Colored Stripes

There are a lot of great reasons to embrace this new multi-colored stripes trend. I really love it because it is unexpected and much more colorful than the traditional stripes we normally see. I also love how designers are playing with the directionality of the stripes. I’ve seen vertical, horizontal and diagonal stripes on clothing this spring. I love how designers are changing up how we imagine stripes should be worn.

If you’ve shied away from stripes in the past because you think they will make you look wider, think again! Vertical or diagonal stripes can actually be elongating and slimming. Chevron patterned stripes can also be very elongating. If you don’t think stripes are for you, I urge you to still give them a try before writing them off.

If you do like the multi-colored stripes trend, here are some of my favorite pieces for spring.
