Quilted Drop Waist Dress

When I saw this quilted drop waist dress, I initially wasn’t going to bother trying it on because the 1920s silhouette doesn’t usually look very good on my figure. I have a much smaller waist and very wide hips, which doesn’t usually jive with a drop waist dress. But I grabbed it anyway and proceeded to the dressing room.

I was shocked that I actually really liked how it looked on me. I ended up getting the dress because, despite the drop waist, it also has a ruffly bottom to the skirt, which added some shape to the dress, so it doesn’t just hang on me.

Also, the sleeve length is so flattering — they fit close to my arms but are a bit longer than your standard short sleeves, which creates the perfect balance on my arms.

Besides the flouncy bottom, my favorite part of this dress is that is it quilted, but sweatshirt material. It is ultra comfortable, but looks really stylish with the quilting pattern. I can definitely see wearing this dress to work this winter with black or gray tights and little booties.
