Model Mom Style: Eclectic Style

I’m so excited to introduce you to our newest Model Mom, Aimee. I met Aimee through one of our previous model moms, Andrea. Aimee was kind enough to let us shoot at her gorgeous, newly remodeled home. The moment she opened her large wooden front door, I felt an immense warmth and kindness radiating from Aimee.

She welcomed us into her kitchen and immediately offered us cold drinks. She’s full of southern charm (from Texas) and has such a fun personality.

We clicked pretty quickly as I ooed and aahed her gorgeous home. Aimee’s house is so beautifully decorated, it was no surprise to find out her hobby has become something of a little side business for her, helping her friends decorate their homes.

Aimee’s style comes through in her home just as much as in her clothing. She has an eclectic style ranging from country casual to ultra modern prints. You can see for yourself in the three looks Aimee selected.

Aimee, thanks so much for letting us shoot you! How would you describe your personal style?

Hmmmm….I am not sure I can put it into words. I dress the way I feel or better yet, the way I want to feel. That tends to get some odd looks from time to time!

What are your go-to pieces in your wardrobe?

Seven For All Mankind jeans. I just had to throw a pair of Sevens away that I had for 11 years. It was a sad day. James Perse white tank tops–the ultimate fit. It is long and covers your backside when you take a knee. Ha! Ralph Lauren oversized denim shirt. Great to wear on these Arizona chilly nights–and when it’s 112 outside, it makes for a perfect bathing suit cover up. Quality work out clothes. I have some sort of aerobic-esque ensemble on every day — regardless if I work out or not. Lululemon gift cards are my favorite present to receive.

Beauty products you can’t live without?

Oil of Olay moisturizer. I don’t care if my granny used this product. It will always be the first thing I put on in the morning. Obagi sunscreen. On my face, on my hands, on my neck. Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage. Come on now. I’m old and used to put baby oil my face when I laid out. This is a daily essential.

What is your favorite me-time activity?

Morning coffee and Instagram time. I follow a ton of interior designers. I wake up an hour before my little one wakes up so I can browse till my heart’s content.

As a busy mom, how do you find balance?

I am so blessed to have my 9 year-old daughter. She is the best. But she is 9 now and is pretty independent. That allows for more time and flexibility in my schedule. I used to wish for more time to myself, and now I wish I had more time with her!

You are in fantastic shape, what is your go-to diet and exercise routine?

Well, that’s mighty kind! I applaud my morning workout group for keeping me accountable. I am not always eager to go in the morning, but my perspective on life and “personality” are much better after the class. Three days of week are strength training and the other two are hiking or spinning. I LOVE to eat and eat like a college freshman. I watch what I eat and opt for the closest to the ground options. That being said, I eat chips and salsa EVERY SINGLE DAY.
