Five Spring Wardrobe Essentials

spring-fashion-essentialsThere are so many fashion trends that I’m loving this spring. Some of my favorites are pastels—especially light pink, floral prints, and the graphic black and white trends that are evident in all areas of fashion right now.

This spring, it’s not just about overarching trends, but specific pieces. So you can modernize your wardrobe simply by choosing these color and pattern trends in the pieces you buy this spring. Below, I describe the five spring wardrobe essentials and show you three versions of the fashion must-haves at three distinctly different prices.

Modern Sunglasses

Modern shades are a must for your spring wardrobe. Some of the hottest styles for spring include: rounded frames, a subtle cat eye, and the classic wayfarers. I personally love the subtle cat eye style, as it portrays a more feminine look than some of the others.

  1. Express – $29.90
  2. Stella McCartney – $190
  3. Tom Ford – $395

Structured Handbag

Small, lady-like structured handbags are everywhere this spring, especially cool in unique colors and interesting prints. I always advocate for spending a bit more on high-quality bags, except for on the occasion where you are choosing something extra trendy.

  1. Paul’s Boutique – $84.69
  2. B Brian Atwood – $295
  3. 3.1 Philip Lim – $650

Cropped Boyfriend Jeans

If you haven’t already jumped on the boyfriend jeans trend that has been big for a few seasons now, it’s time. This spring, denim is all about the cropped boyfriend jeans. I prefer these to the previous boyfriend jeans, because they are more form fitting. When choosing a pair, just make sure you choose a pair that isn’t too baggy, especially in the backside. No one wants a saggy bootie.

  1. Levi’s – $36.99
  2. KUT from the Kloth – $79.50
  3. Paige – $210

Full Skirt

Full skirts this spring should be mid-calf to ankle length. Pair the skirt with a cinched in blouse or a crop top for the perfect feminine look this spring. If you aren’t sure how to wear this trend, here are my tips on how to wear a full skirt.

  1. ASOS – $65.87
  2. Ted Baker – $248
  3. Whistles – $460

Printed Flats

Flats are here to stay and they are made more special this spring in prints and interesting cut-outs. Printed flats are a must-have for spring, and I’ll jump at any excuse to add more flats to my kid-friendly wardrobe. Pointed toe flats with the d’orsay style are my favorite right now.

  1. BC Footwear – $59.95
  2. Loeffler Randal – $250
  3. Giorgio Armani – $650
